FOOD PANTRY
We have made a food pantry available in order to provide canned and boxed food to struggling members of our congregation. Jesus said in Matthew 25:25, “for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in.” Each time we are able to provide for to someone in need, we are doing it unto Christ (Matt 25:40). Food items are accepted via donation. We accept canned and boxed goods, toiletries and paper goods. If you would like to make a donation, please check the expiration date of the item you are giving.
INTERCESSORY PRAYER
Paul exhorted Timothy “first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men” (1 Timothy 2:1). Our walk with Christ is truly one of peace, joy, and dependence on our Lord for all things. How important it is that we have fellow believers to lift us up during every moment of our walk, both in trials and tribulation, and in times of blessing! This command of God is especially important to our pastor, that we lift each other up at all times. If intercessory prayer is something you are called to, please see Pastor Earl to find out where you can be best used. For a great explanation of intercessory prayer, read this.
MISSIONS
We are a missions-minded church! Jesus said in Matthew 28:18-20, “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen.” We believe that one of the important ways churches can fulfill this command is to give financially to organizations/people who are out on the mission field. We give because God has first blessed us.

NURSERY/CHILDREN'S CHURCH
Jesus said in Luke 18:16: “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.” In an increasingly wicked world, how important is it for us to teach our children the ways of God? We currently have a children’s church (ages 4 and up), and a nursery (birth to age 3). We are always in need of volunteers to help teach our little ones. If you interested in this valuable opportunity to teach the Word of God to the children of Higher Ground, please contact Michelle at mearl@hgcog.org to find out how you can serve. We provide all curriculum and materials.
SHUT-IN MEAL MINISTRY
Paul instructed the elders at the church at Ephesus: “I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, '"t is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35). Each week, volunteers from our congregation deliver homemade meals to the members of our church who are unable to travel outside their homes. This is done on a scheduled, rotating basis. This gives us a wonderful opportunity to reach out to those who still desire the fellowship of the Body of Christ, but simply cannot come to church. We also provide copies of the weekly sermon as well so they can listen to the Word and stay connected to the church in a Biblical way.
